
I think you will end up with a display in much worse condition than what you have now.

I have seen a lot of ugly coating issues while the laptop is powered off, but most of them don't affect the ability to use the laptop normally. There may be a lot of areas (large or very small) where the coating is actually in good condition and cannot be easily removed.
